TREES UPROOTED A MILE AWAY.

Rome, August 26. A terrific explosion of munitions occurred at a depot at Pollegrino.,Tho force of the explosion rooted up trees a mile distant. The rescuo parties wore ordered not to remove the bodies of groups of soldiers and civilians, lest bombs underneath should cause additional casualties. Over a hundred Were killed or ie-iured.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
