MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Rugby Union was held Inst night. Mr. "\V. Ho'rnig presided over a full attendance of members. A protest was received from the Athletic Club against the decision of the referee (Mr. Neilson) in the senior match between Petono and Athletic ut the Pork lnsl, Saturday on the ground that the second try scored by Petone from a lineout was awarded after the Petone captain had called for a scrummage. The mailer was held over till the next meeting, and until the report of the referee has been received. It was decided to send a team of 17 members and a malinger to Blenheim on Friday for the match with Uarlboioiigli ou Saturday. The homo union made the ivnuest for a Wellington referee to con--trol the match. The matter was left to the decision of the Rugby Referees' Appointment Board, who were asked to make a selection.
