MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Rugby Union was held Inst night. Mr. "\V. Ho'rnig presided over a full attendance of members. A protest was received from the Athletic Club against the decision of the referee (Mr. Neilson) in the senior match between Petono and Athletic ut the Pork lnsl, Saturday on the ground that the second try scored by Petone from a lineout was awarded after the Petone captain had called for a scrummage. The mailer was held over till the next meeting, and until the report of the referee has been received. It was decided to send a team of 17 members and a malinger to Blenheim on Friday for the match with Uarlboioiigli ou Saturday. The homo union made the ivnuest for a Wellington referee to con--trol the match. The matter was left to the decision of the Rugby Referees' Appointment Board, who were asked to make a selection. The names of the following referees wore received from the Appointment. Board to b? forwarded to the Tiirnnnki Rugby Union to make a selection for Ihe watch at Wellington on September It:— lf. Paiou, A. Neilson, il. Tregar and A. C. KiHo. It was decided that the "gate" from the Waiiganui-University match to-day should be devoted to the Injured Players' Fund. . Thfi Wanganui team was, in view of tho special circumstances which caused the abandonment ol the tournament, anxious for h second meeting with Wellington College to-day, but as this could not be arranged, University got together a team for a match with the visitors. A curtain-raiser at 1.30 p.m. will be played between the 11.A1.5-- New Zealand Rugby Football Club and Oriental, who played the ship's side on her first trip here. F.
