' James Corbett Murphy, alias Sullivan, camo beforo the Supremo Court on a chargo of theft of moneys totalling' .243 45., the property of tho Federated Seamen's Union. The jury returned with a verdict of guilty, with a strong recommendation, to mercy on account of the laxity of the management of the Seamen's Union in Napior in dealing with its Napier agent. His Honour said he would consider the recommendation and sentence the prisoner to-morrow morning.
