WOOL PRICES AND THE COMMANDEER

Sir,—Tho wool sales have again close and priccs have 6oared higher than ever; so bv this time, 110 doubt, the New Zealand farmers are realising to their cost wjiat this commandeer means. Wo are simply being robbed, and being treated most unjustly, and unfairly. Before this last commandeer was arranged a vote of the farmers for and against should havo been taken. If it suited the men with several thousands of sheep, it certainly does not suit the man with heavy interest on mortgages, land taxes, etc., to pay; and I think it is about time the producers were treated as rational human beings, and permitted to sell Iho produce wo pay to grow where we like. Why was the commandeer renewed for another year? That is a question I should , like answered. There are ir "irmies to feed or clothe now, which wat given as an excuse during the war.—l am, etc., ONE OP THE LOSERS.
