g - FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications aro for variable winds with freshening easterlies prevailing in the northern districts and moderate to strong north-east to south-east winds elsewhere. Weather fair, but cloudiness increasing generally, and a change following shortly in many parts. Barometer falling soon. Strong southerly winds and cloudy \ve?tlier, with scattered rain, prevailed on Saturday. Conditions improved 011 Sunday, and fair weather has since ruled except in Westland.
