The application of Inez Evelyn' Berry, claiming i't 10s. arrears of maintenance against her husband, Albert Berry, was dismissed. The applicant was divorced a fortnight ago. In this caso Mr. P. W. Jackson appeared for the applicant and Mr. G. Watson for the defendant.

Arthur Thompson Turoa Cooper, whoso arrears in respect of a maintenance order amounted to ,£25, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as 10s. per week is paid off the arrears and tne current payments aro maintained. 'On tlio application of Janet O'Neill, Matthew O'Neill was ordered to pay 10s. per week off the arrears, amounting to .£ls. in respect of a maintenance order, in default one month's imprisonment.

Arthur Wellesley Jones was on the application of his wife, Mirian Elizabeth Jones, ordered to pay 2s. fid, per week towards the support of each of four children. No order was mado in respect of Mrs. Jones, who for a period of twelve years had resided with her children and her father at Paliautanui. Mr. .H. P. O'Learv, who appeared for the defendant, said that the court had refused to make an order in favour of Mrs. Jones in 1017 on the ground that the wife had been guilty of desertion.
