A "soccer" team from H.M.S. New Zealand met the first-grade Porirua team on Saturday afternoon, and defeated it by four goal* to nil. Tho Tars played a very fast, nippy game, and showed' oxccllont combumtioi}. The play in the first half was all in their favour. At the beginning of tho seoond half, Porirua attacked strongly, but the vory sound defence of Southcombe and Laycock, with that of other members of tho New Zealand's team, effectively warded off all danger. There wns only ono scoto in the first half; tho sailors' team was awarded a penalty-goal, and Laycock, who took tho kick, mo.de no mistake. In the second half. In tlie fourth B Charity Cup Thorndon defeated Institute B by 6 goals to 1, M. Murphy (3), .T. M'Kinley, D. Nicklcss, and'J. Hendry scored. South .Wellington defeated Petwne by 8 goals to 1.
