» KING'S THEATRE. A full house greeted tho excellent new programme presented at tlio King's Theatre last evening. Cpnstanco Taknadge, as tho eaucy, piquant widow in a romantic search for a second husband, adds slill another success to her credit in "Romance and Arabella." This picture is a delightful comedy, full of bright cheeriness and charming humour that cannot: fail to appeal, while some of tlio situations are screamingly funny. Mr. Austin Blactkie, the well-known Wellington tenor, is the vocalist this week, and his snngiiirj last night of "Mary of Aigyle" and "I Hear You Calling Me" was thoroughly enioyed. The King's Grand Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. L. D. Austin, contribute largely to the evening's entertainment with -some' bright and exceeding."}' well-played music. Tits programme is being repeated to day and tonight. "THE LAND WE LIVE IN." "The Land We Live In," a unique educational film of vory speoial interest, was screened at tho Britannia Theatre yesterday, and drew crowded houses. During the day some GOO school children witnessed the picture. The photography is excellent, every caro having been taken to do the fullest justico to the many beauty spots of New Zealand, 'the picture not only depicts the scenic splendours of the Dominion, but indicates the possibilities of New Zealand in industrial, civic, and rural matters. Many of the scenes of the thermal activities at Roto- | rua fcre remarkably good, and tho samo : may bo said of the trip down the WaI nganui River,'the run through the Bulj ler and Otira Gorges, the Cold Lakes, !/tlio rugtfed scenery in the winterless north, Mount Egmont ; and many other j places too numerous to mention. The inof the picture is exj tremely'interestinj, and depicts the dairy !i industry, tho wool industry, the meat industry, the leather industry, the fruit I industry, tho tinlber industry, the makI ing of soap in New Zealand, and what I can be done with milk. The whole pic- ; ture is . full of interest and instruction, and is in a class which many will heartily welcome. Tho picturo will be screened again to-day and to-nijht, and throughout next week. > EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. ! The wonder play, "Mickey," was ; screened to a packed house at Every- , body's Theatre last night, c.nd hundreds j were refused admission. Tho screenings of .this fine picturo caused great enthu- !' siasm. "Mickey" has everything imag- ' inable that might be conceived by tho ' most inventive producer to put "thrills" into films and project "punches" upon the screen. Mabel Normaud is delightful, and some of the "stunts" she does are hair-raising. PHor to the screening of the big picture Miss Eileen Driscoll . sings "Mickey," and the incidental music is played by an augmented orchestra. Tho supports are the latest Gazette, Episodo 7 of "The Fighting Trail," and a Keystouo comedy. Tho same programme will bo repeated to-day and to-night.
