ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph—Special Correspondent. "Palmei'Ston North, August 22. The ifanawatu Racing Club had its an-, nual meeting Jast night. The report stated that the totalisator • turnover was X' 33,000. less than in the previous. year. The privileges account showed a decrease of JJIOOO, while the stakes Jiad been increased.by General expenses decreased by <£100. The entries showed an increase .of ,£2OO, and members' subscriptions jMembers and associate members were joining the ohib more freely than in past years, showing that tlio club was inerewtsing in popularity. After writing off .£452 for depreciation, the actual net profit for the year was ,£218! l 3s. 4d. Of this .£2flOO ; was transferred to the new totalisator accouut. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. ,J. 11. P.' Strang; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Goring Johnston and-F. j & M'Rae; honorary treasurer, Mr. C. Louisson;' committee, Messrs. L. A. Abraham, H. R. Cooper, S. R. Lancaster, L. 11. Collinsoiiauditors, Messrs. Rutherford aad Connoll. Mr. Collinson is a new member of the committee, taking the place of Mr. P. J. Nathan, who did not seek re-election. Votes of thanks were accorded the retiring president (Mr. J. Goring Johnston), .Mr. F. J. Nathan, and the socre-/ tnry (Mr. J. M. Johnston).
