THE AMENDED SYLLABUS. The Minister of Education (Hon. ,T. A. Hanan) stated yesterday that 6onie tinio ago he gave instructions to his officer* to Tevise the school syllabus on rortali, lines. Tlie revisions had b«en considered by the senior inspectors and senior teachers in conference with the officers of the Department, and the amended fi.vlln.bii3 was now in the hands of tin, printer. The Alinister intended to n ak\. a final revision himself before the syllabus wont before Cabinet.

Kann.it mentioned that at his rc< quest the officers of the Education Diy parftneut had examined very thorough!} the proposals urged upon him from many quarters for tho free issuo oi school books and school requisites. Hit had prepared a report on the subject for submission to Cabinet, but so fai Cabinet had not been able to deal with tho matter owing lo pressure of other work.
