AMERICAN NATIONAL DOUBLES. Nev; York, August 19. The New York "Times" correspondent at Boston says that Tilden and Brookes played tho best games „n the match in which Brookes and Patterson (Australia) von the national doubles championship from Tilden. and Richards. Brookes ""was as steady as a rock. He made only twenty errors and 6corcd 28 points. Tilden, who played the fastest game seen for many seasons, made 01 errors and scored G1 points. ,Richards, who is considered America's boy phenomenon, was the weakest member of the quartet. Patterson played less spectacularly than heretofore, but was surprisingly steady, though at times out-generalled.
