FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for incroasini: westerly winds, squally at times, southward of Now Plymouth and Castlepoint, and backing to souilicrlies attain shortly in tho south. A depression is duo to pass soon, and cloudy unsettled conditions may be expected to follow iu many parts of the country. _ Southerly winds decreased iu force durius Wednesday Light, and have since given place to freshening westerlies and liortherlios in and southward of Cook Strait.. Pair weather has prevailed generally, but cloudy skies have ruled in the western districts. Pressure is now high in the north, but has decreased to-day in tho south. li. Y.
