The Treasury, on tlie advico of the Wheat Commission, has reduced I'lie tax on flour to be used for other purposes than making bread from 365. per 2801b. to 245. .. Tho Committee on National Expenditure believes it will lie possible to ,'ibollsh the bread subsidy at the end ot the year, owing to the increasing home production, and the prospective Australian and Canadian supplies.—Aus.-N.Z.
