Australian advices state that as the result of tho release of a large unmber of British merchant ships, it is expected to resume shortly a full service between Australia., Now Zealand, and San ironcisco. Plans are being prepared for tho installation of a number of freight steamers of a fast type, with a large. refrigerated capacity, to be employed in the meat and butter trade. With the resumption of this regular service, trade conditions with America should bo greatly improved. . . , According to a recent issue of Sydney Shipping List," the P. and O. and Orient Shipping Companies hope to resumo regular mail and .passenger services in beptember on pre-war lines. It is as yet lm possible to fix the sailing orsteamers definitely. Probably the Macedonia will be the first of the P. and O. vessels to tako up the running, and the Ostprloy will lead off for the Orient Company.
