MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION.
• PROTEST AGAINST ..GOVERNMENT SYSTEM. ° The By-laws Committee reported, to , last evening's meeting of the City Coun-' iiil:—'"That they have received a communication from' the Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, intimating that a system of registration of motor vehicles in use by them has been installed, and requesting the council to cancel all- registrations standing in the .name of the Department. Ydur committeo dosire to.bring the matter before the council in order that a protest may be lodged against this practice, which is being adopted by various Government Departments, and, to point out the con- ■ fusion which will occur by the adoption ( of different systems of registration.' . Councillor M; P. Luclrio reported that ' the committeo wished to protest against • a new 6vstem of registration of cars and vehicles that would lessen the efficiency i of the council's system of registration. Tlie report was approved.
