AUTONOMY FOR TIBET
A NEW BUFFER STATE. (Rec. August 20, 0.30 a.m.) Washington, August 19. According to official advices from Peking Britain and China have reached 1111 agreement regarding Tibet, by which China woidd grant autonomy to Tibet, while retaining her sovereignty. Therefore China will lie relieved of-the burdensome task of maintaining' older in Tibet, and Britain's desire for the maintenance of Tibet as an autonomous buffer State will be realised.—Aus.-N.Z.
