Incidentally, the Boston City Council ha> taken recognisance of the situation through an order which requested tho Mayor to confer with the Governor with relation to legislation. Tho Bill approved by the Senato Committee says that "maintaining or increasing unreasonably the price of any necessity of life is hereby declared to be u crime. Whoever, in oombiirntion or association with another, or others, enters into any agreement or understanding to maintain or increase or cause to bo maintained or increased unreasonably tlio prico of any necessary of life, shrill bo deemed guilty of conspiracy, and upon conviction shall be punished by imprisonment in tho house of oorrection for\". term of not moro than two years, or by a fine of not moro than lOOOdol.
