NIGHT ATTACK ON QUEEKSTOWtj London, August 17. A mysterious night attack was made on the island of Queenstowu, on which a small forco was guarding military stores. Men hiding on a peninsula commanding the island opened rifle fire on the garrison, which replied with machine gens. There were apparently no casualties. The authorities are maintaining secrecy. Farm labourers in Meath, who are striking, removed a rail from. ; tho track near Nevan, derailing thirty ivogons, which were intended for the removal of stock from the farms.—Aus.N.Z. Cablo Assn. DISORDERS IN LONDONDERRY. ' London; August 17. ' A largo forco of troops in Londonderry kept the Orangemen and Sinn Pernors apart on Friday night. There was much hooting and singing of party songs, and some revolver shots and stoning. Finally the troops cleared' the Bfa'eets.
