Instantly tho balloon shot upwards and was blown out to sea, with its hapless occupant, who was ignorant of such aeronautics as then prevailed. Neither ho nor tho balloon was over heard of again. For n week or two tho nowspapers reported nil kinds of rumours and conjectures, but Mj. Powell's fato ha 6, of ccrnreo, never beon precisely ascertained.
