BATHS FOR THORNDON

At last evening's meeting of the City Council, 'the oft-raised question of baths for Thorndon, to replace the old ones 60011 to be scrapped, came before the council in a new form. Councillors W. H. Bennett mid M. F.Lnckie commended to the council's notice the section at tho corner of Tinakori Head and Park Slrwt, formerly used by the Thorndon BowCing Club. 'Councillor Bennett thought (lis section was «, most admirable one for imtlis for Thorndon, and pointed out that the water from the Grant .Road spring, a large quantity of which was going to waste summer aiul winter, could bo used to feed the baths. Councillor Luckio said that the matter of securing a site for baths was under the consideration of the Financo Committee, and the section was very well suited for such a purpose.

The Mayor said that the Finance Committee was going to visit Thorndon short' ly, and t-liey itould liavo a look at tho section mentioned. Sooner or later tho matter of providing baths for Thorndon would linve to bo faced, and they would go into the matter later.
