Senator Milieu announced that the stipulations of the Sydney seamen were that Walsh must attend the conference, and that there must 'bo no reference of the- dispute to tlio Arbitration Court. This had deferred a settlement, but he was still hopeful that the strike would bo concluded. It' the Sydney branch insisted on stimilating conditions at variance with an agreement recommended by the conference he would not be warranted in indulging in n hope for settlement much longer.—Press Assn. A mass meeting of seamen rescinded yesterday's resolution, and passed another, similar to the Melbourne resolution affirming the intention to man the ship'-; on Monday. Meanwhile a conference will take place at Melbourne at which' the States will be represented.— Press Assn. (Rec. August 15,1.15 a.m.) Sydney, August 11. The mass meeting of seamen concluded amid uproar, one section objecting to the motion, which was eventually carried, to tho effect that the men will man tlio ships on Monday provided the decisions of the round-table conference are final; further, that inter-State Labour representatives be allowed to attend the conference.—Press Assn.
