MAORI LAD'S NECK BROKEN. By Telegraph—Press. Association.' Gisborno, August UTlio police have received information 51 a fatal accident under unusual 'circumstances at Muknrori. Deceased was in a Trap with his ancle and a Maori gill; who wero sitting on the front seat, the lad being at me hack. The party left Mamiln'lu to proceed to TntaiKiuci, hut on the beach the horse became restive and played up, and the lad fell out, breaking his neelc. At the inquest a verdict was returned of acci J dental death, no blame being attachable •• to tho driver. SETTLER SERIOUSLY INJURED. Taumanniui, August H. A 6ori<?ii3 accident occurred (o C. Tronprovo, a settler employed at Stevens, Ilcndersoh and Co.'s mill at Piriaka. Through falling under a moving truck he suffered a compound fracture of the right arm. Medical aid was obtained, and the man removed to Tauniarunui Hospital. ■
