Mrs. Roche, wife of Police-Sergeant Koclio ' died in the hospital under an anaesthetic, used for an operation on an enlarged thyroid gland. TWO MEN POUND DEAD. Ashbui'ton, August 13. Alexander Humphries, -aged about 60 a travelling saddler, was found dead yesterday on the farm of Mr. W. H. Miller Barrhill. Deceased had been employed by the latter for a few days, and evidently died at work after midday yesterday. *
Dunodln, August 13. The police received a telegram from Alexandra that William Kcohle, a miner, aged 57, was found dead yesterday under a fall of earth.
CHILD DIES AS RESULT OP
SWALLOWING PAINT. Dunedln, August 13. Stanley Norman Guest, aged two years, died at Bnlchitha as tho result of swallowing a block of paint from a child's paint box, Tho child swallowed the paint yesterday forenoon, and after being given an emetic, vomited and u-emed all right, but died early this morniijg.
