CHEAPER SEWING COTTON
Drapers in England have just been advised that lower prices for certain kinds of sewing cotton will eonio into operation on May 30, but the figures have not yet beeu settled. At present 7Jd. i« charged for a reei that before tho war was 2-! d. Manchester firms estimate that about .£10,01)0,000 worth of cotton goods—yarn and cloth—will bo released b_y tho removal of tho restrictions on exports to Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. Sweden has actually paid for ,£2,000,000 irorth of goods at present in Manchester warehouses. A general improvement ia tho cotton industry is anticipated.
