DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF A HUSBAND Sv AflinciAtlQD Dunedin, August 12. An action in which Catherine Weir claimed J;2500 damages from the Now Zealand Coal and Oil Company ae a result of the death of her husband, who was fatally injured in the Kaitangata mine, concluded to-day. The- jury awarded MOib for plaintiff, and .£455 for her child. Mr'. J. MacGregor then moved for judgment for the defendant company on tho irround that tho jury found that AVeir had been riding on the haulage rope without written authority to do so. Mr. Justice Sim said that Mr. Mac> Gregor could move- within U days.
