A dispatch from Tokio states that tho Japanese Minister to China has already opened negotiations with Peking concerning the return of Shantung, and that Japan is ready to make such restitution as soon as China is prepared to fulfil tho terms of tho dual agreement loneerning Shantung. DUMPING THEIR RICHES FROM A SiSAPLANK (Rec. August 11, 7.30 p.m.) Stockholm, August 10. A German seaplane dropped two packets on the seashore near Malinoe. A German mnn and woman picked them up but the coastguards arrested them and confiscated the packages. These contained valuable jewels and foreign bonds. Tho prisoners stated that Prince William of Weid was on board the seaplane, and had arranged for smuggling tho property, which belonged to the Royal Famlly of Saxony.—Aiis.-N.Z. Cable "Assn.
