AFGHAN RISING ENDED
PEACE SIGNED. London, August 8. Britain has signed peace with Afghan-istan.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE TREATY TERMS. (Rec. August iO, 5.5 p.m.) Simla, August 8. Tho Afghan peace treaty provides for the stoppage of all importation of arms and munitions into Afghanistan through India, and confiscates tho arrears of subsidy granted to the lato Amir and the subsidy to tho present Amir. By treaty it is agreed that Britain shall receive another Afghan mission six months hence for a discussion of a settlement of various matters. Tho Afghan Government accepts. the Indo-Afghan frontior accepted by the late Amir, a,nd also the early demarcation by a British commission of the undemarcated portion of tho line west of Kliyber, wliero recent Afghan aggression happened, and such boundary as British commission may lay dowii, the British troops to remain in their present positions until tuo demarcation has been olfcctcd— lieuter.
