; The monthly meeting of the Eoyal N.Z. Society for the Health of Womdn and Children was held o'n Thursday in tho Plunket rooms, Courtonay Place"/ Present' were Mrs. Hosking (in the chair), Lady Stout, Mesdaincs Russell, Hanan, Ponsonby, Ward, AV. Nathan, W. Luke, W. Bethune, Neave, Cook, Burt, TytheBrowu, Richardson, and S. Kirkcaldie, Misses Eiley; M'Lean, Kirkcaldie, Barnett, and Dr. Ada Patterson. Apologies were received from Mrs. J. Trips- and Mrs. P. E. Chapman. Eeforo tho usual business of the meeting was discussed, Mrs. Hosking moved a very sincere vote of sympathy to Mr. P. H. Carr, of Auckland, in the sad loss he has sustained in the of his wife. Mrs. Hosking spoke most feelingly of the late Mrs. CWs wonderful efforts in the interests of Plunket work. All recognised what a tower-of strength she had been for so many years to tho Central Council in Dunediß. , , „ ~ Nurse Seater read the report-for the previous month: New cases 55, including Khandallah and Ngtrio; visits paid by the four nurses to homes, 113; mothers visits to looms, -133, including Itona Bay and Khandallah; expectant mothers who visited tho rooms, 11; mothers shown how 'to prepare humanised milk, .23; babies solely breast-fed, 33; partially, 12; artificially, JO, and letters received and answered, 8.-. . ■ ' The Central Council minutes were read and.proved most interesting. Miss v. Primrose, organising socrotary Australian Visiting Trained Nurses' Association, Melbourne, Victoria, asked if Dunedin. could lend ono or two experienced nurses for pioneer work in Melbourno to establish a centre on the lines of the Eoyal N.Z. Society for tho Health of Women and Children, before Dr. Truby King's expected visit by Australia. The hon. treasurer gratefully aclmow-' Jedges the following subscriptions: Mrs. ■ S. The Protection of Women Society, through Mrs. Ponsonby, drew attention to tho numbers of babies and little ones lying in perambulators and pusb-earts without hats or nny shade or protection from tho sun and winter elements, the secretary has received the sixth annual report of the Tailmpa branch and nubbranches .Mangaweka, Hunterville, and Marton. -
