The well-known jockey, H. Goldfinch, was married this week. His term of suspension has expired, and ho will be riding at Riccarton next week. After being given a light task on AVed-nc-sday morning. S. Barrett is not sanguine of success, but ho states that he would sooner win tho Grand National than anv other race, and ho cannot do that without running a horse in It. Tho Maori, which sailed for Lyltelton last _ evoning, was crowded with excursionists, and many trippers to the National Meeting had to bo content with shakedowns."
