GERMANS' STILL
INCIDENT ON THE WILLOCHRA. A resident, of Wellington, has received an interesting letter from a member of the guard on (he simmer Wilochrn, which will bo remembered as having left hero some two months ago with Govmans who, with a number more from Australia, were bejng repnfnatoc to their native Fatherland. The letter reads: "Wo hnva had rather a rough time, of it since leaving Australia, and wil be glad when wo leave the Cape behind us. and get into some good weather. The prisoners are behaving vary well and keeping quiet. Last week wo; found a Mill. Tt is verv fnnnv to think (hat for the past foiir weeks tho Hun lias been making whisky, and good dope it was. We give them stewed fruit for dinner and out of- what they could save a good whisky was being manufactured. Even-thing was done openly, and had i* not lieen for a few of (hem getting too much they would never have beon discovered."
