THE KING'S PRIZE CONDITIONS,

The winning of the Prize at tho Bisley Victory Meeting by u Now Zealander has created much interest amongst local rilie shots as to tho conditions under which the prize was shot for, tho old conditions (which included loii{f-rango shooting) having been altered. Colonel K. J. Collins, C.M.G., chief executive officer D.R.A., is now in a position to supply the information, viz.: His Majesty tho King's Prizo was fired for at Bisley on July 15, 16, and 17, open to all past and present members of .His Majesty's forces. The aggregate prizo money, ,£IOBO, was divided into _ 350 prizes, tho first prize being His Majesty tho King's of i'23o, the. N.K.A. gold meddl and gold badgo. Shot for in three stages: First stage, 10 shots at 200 and 500 yards; second 6tage, 10 shots at 200, 500, and 000 yards (only tho first 300 competitors in tho first stage competing); third stage, 10 shots at 300, 500, and 60(1 yards (only the first 100 competitors in tho second stage to shoot). Shot for with tho British S.M.L.E. rifle, sorvico riflo issued by or purchased from the Government, and used until open eights as issued. Slings not to l>o used. Only tho scores made in tho sccond and third stages count for tho prize. At the finish of the 300 yards in the third singe Lovoday was 1G8; at 5()0 yards ho made <11; and at GOO yards a brilliant scflre of 41; making a grand total of 253. At tho recent D.E.A. Meeting held at Trentham tho eorvice rifle, 1011, issued by tho Defence Department, was used, and the same rulo applied to sights, but slings were permitted to bo used in championship series, which included tho King'e Prize match for Now Zealand.
