NORTH ISLAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. 'By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent. Palmerston North, August 7. At the annual meeting of the North Island Ponltry, Pigeon, and Canary Association, at Palmerston North, tho president (Mr. J. Jarvis) in his annual report stated that, following tho end of the •war. it was hoped that affairs in tho ■poultry world would soon become normal,' and that the keeping and improving of our feathered friends would receive a, great impetus. A now form of setting 'out the schedule had been'carefully considered by the council and ordered to be sent to all affiliated societies and clubs, some of whom had already adopted it. Tho championships had again been allotted by ballot, and tho usual amount of dissatisfaction had occurred; but a few exchanges food been mado which were satisfactory to tho clubs concerned. Tho work of publication of tho utility poultry standards was being gone 011 with by the Agricultural Department. It was thought advisable for tho association to affiliate with the New Zealand Poultry Association, on Account of that body being tho only organisation the Agricultural Department rccoghiscs to deal with when considering appeals for help and other wants of tho industry. Tho balance-sheet showed a credit for tho year of <€30 19s, 5d., tho balanco having been lowered on account of travelling expenses. Tho following officers were elected for the ensuing year:-President, Mr. J, Ja.rvi3; vice-presidents, Messrs. ,T. Cunninghamo, and W. Cnllcn; .treasurer, Mr. J. 11. Coper; secretary, Mr. W, j, Mawkes; auditor, Mr. W. T. Penny.
