SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

A fine evening's entertaioment was arranged for tho. seafarers by the hostess, Miss Toychenno, on Tuesday nt the Sailors' Friend Society. Tho concert was given before a most enthusiastic audience. Tho performers were Airs. Kennedy, tho Misses Maxwell and Toychciuie, and Messrs. Laycock, Meier, i'hipps, Barrett, ex "Shropshire," and Austin Suffolk. Miss Teychenno was at the piano. Mr. Moore, inissioner, spoko on "Who Does the Work?" in relation to drinking, and pledges followed. The uissioner announced, amid cheers, that tho long-de-layed medal had been awarded tho men of tho merchant service. It was found that 00 per cent, present were entitled to it. The prizes in the .competition went to tho men in port.
