By Tclccraph—Press Association
Auckland, August G. A deputation representing the Auck■land City Council, the War Memorial Committee, awl flic- Auckland Museum authorities waited upon tSe Prime Aunister to enlist his. assistance in securing for the new War Memorial Museum to be erected in the Domain a .fair share of trophies to bo sent out to the Dominion. The Prime Minister eaid he know that a very larfie number of war trophies had been collected in London to be forwarded, including several hundred ma-chine-Runs and approximately about one hundred and fifty field Runs. It would be absurd to have all Iheso puna stacked up in Wellington, mid ho had not tho slushiest doubt that there would be somethiiiß in the shnpo of an equitable distribution among the various centres and museums. Centres which had sent large numbers of soldiers to the war should have someth ing to perpetuate then recollection of what their men had done. He promised the deputation _. that W would take an early opportunity to discuss tho matter with Sir .Tames Allen, and would send then, a definite answci at an early date.
