COURT-MARTIAL
CHARGE OF DESERTION. By Telegraph—Press Aatooiatioa. Dunedin, August 6. At a conrt-martiail to-day, Priyate Frank M'Sweeney was charged with desertion by absenting himself from parade at Invercargill, of the reinforcement draft in which he was drawn. Evidence tendered by tho defenco showed that accused believed himself to be over military age. Captain M'Cormack, for the prosecution, said it appeared to him Chat accused was guilty of a technical breach in ignorance of the law. If tho Defenco authorities had had information the case probably would nover have arisen. The Court announced that its decision would be promulgated in duo course.
