A MEMORIAL HOSTEL

THE MOEKAH KESIDENCE SECURED At a meeting of the St. SoSm's Young Men's Bible Class, of held over a month ago, the qvtcjrron was discussed as to what kind of memorial would be most fitting to those members t-.f the clms ffbo had fought in the Greai War. It was then decided that the best form of memorial would bo the establish, ment of a hostel in which the returned men. as well as others away from home, cauld find comfortable lodging, at reasonable rates. Tiie managers of St. John's Church were approached as soon as tbo ulass had raised the sum of £500, and with their willing aid a hostel has been » already secured. The property acquired is the well-known residence of the late to r. E. W. Mowih (father of Mr. W. H. Xlorrah. of Wellington), on tho corner cf tipper Willis Street and Aro Street, the residence, which is a sound,, wooden building; of 6Ktecn rooms (and offices in ,-ddition), stands on n block of land having a frontage of 85ft. to "Willis Street and 173 ft. to Ait) Street. The groundsare well planted, and there is a stream of water running through tho garden summer and winter, offering splendid facilities for ornamentation. A picturesque square tower lends an air of dislinction to the building, and the extensive grounds, when opened out, will give a plc.tant setting to the new St. John's Hostel. ;
