AMERICAN RAILWAY STRIKE
450,000 MEN OUT. (Uec. August G, 0.40 a.m.) New York, August 1. A message from /Washington says that it is estimated that 450,000 railroad ehopworkers went on strike following upon a demand upon the rnilroad administration for an increase in wages from 68 to 75 cents an hour,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
