500 MILES DAILY SERVICE
LONG-DISTANCE DELIVERIES ESTABLISHED A. month ago owing to the restricted train service, I'm: Dominion' instituted a tliroueh motor service delivery of newspapers to New Plymouth on the day of publication. Without a break, tho connection has been maintained, enabling New Plymouth renders to procure . the naners at 7 o'clock in the evening, and servins all the towns en route from WellinKton to the Taranaki capital, including Palmerston North and AVanganui. For two years a Dominion motor-ear has run to Featherslon, connecting with the early train running north from there, and serving tho Wairarapa and district beyond. This train is not now running, and since July 2 the motor run has been extended to Mastorton, where the car arrives beforo 9 o'clock each morning.
Yesterday saw a further extension from Masterton to Napier, the latter town being reached at 5.30 p.m. on the day of publication. Counting the mileage one way only, on these two long runs The Dominion is carried nearly 500 miles-per ciotor daily. This enterprise on the, port of the proprietors enables the delivery of Thf. Dominion to be made at New Plymouth over ttenty hours, and at Na* pier four hours ahead of existing train services. The numerous subscribers to The Dominion in the Manawatu, Wariganui. Taranaki, Wairarapa, and Ifawke's Bay districts are now enabled to secure their daily paper considerably ahead of the time at which delivery took place, when carriage was made by railway.
