THE "DAILY NEWS" APOLOGISES. London, July 31. Mr. Auston Chamberlain, Mr. Walter Long, Sir Eric Geddes, and Sir Auckland Geddes havo issued writs for libel against the "Daily Nows" for statements relating to their investments in Russian se-curities—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. (Roc. August 3, 5.5 p.m.) London, July 31. Tho "Daily News" admits that its statements were without foundation that Mr. Long, Sir Eric Geddes, and Mr. Chamberlain had increased their holding? in Russian shares 6i'nco the revolution, or evon sinco the armistice, and unreservedly apologies for its statements, which first appeared in "The Nation," against which Sir Auckland Geddes has issued writs—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
