It gavo the stranger a glimpse of home life and a touch of real personal friendship that was scarcely possiblo at public entertainments. He strongly advocated that the people of Wellington should put themselves out of the way to entertain tho men, even if 'it were only to have two or threo of them to dinner or at a 'musical evening.. The feeling of the meeting was with Captain Chudley, and it was resolved to advertise asking people who could 'find it convenient to do so to entertain the sailors of tho New Zealand in their own homos. All those who are prepared to do so are requested to communicate by letter with Mrs. ',T. Darling, Botani2il Gardens Road, Kelburn.
