SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

A bright evening was arranged for the men of the sea by Miss Jean Nicholas at tho Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday, whon beforo an enthusiastic audience music, story, and song were rendered by tho following:—Mrs, Martin, tho Misses Worboys, Nicholas, Stovens, Peggy Jones, and Messrs. Roy Hill, R. Rex, Val Jones, Kingston, Douglas (s.s'. Suffolk). Miss Jean Nicholas was at the piano. Some interesting short stories were written by the men, and tho prizes were won by the Shropshire and Ngahere. Tho missioner, Mr. Moore, \v!io presided, thanked recent donors of books, etc., for use in tho institute.
