ANGLO-BELGIAN COMPLICITY DISPROVED
DOCUMENTS FALSELY INTERPRETED

The German allegations that the Belgian archives proved the cxisitenco of uu Anglo-Belgian complicity at the outbreak of the war are disproved by Colonel Schwort feger, whom tho German Government commissioned to examine the documents. Schwerlfeger declares Unit no document existed showing an unneutral attitiido ou Belgium's part. He adds that the German. Uovernnient falsely interpreted the documents and committed .ruauy forgeries in order to deceive the Goriiian iKople.—Aus.-N./.. Cable Atsn. Lit was alleged by the German Government that Belgium and Britain had enteral into an understanding prior to the war to facilitate tlio passago of troops through Belgium for the purposo of attacking Germany. This allegation, was based upon the declaration that official documents in proof of it had 'been discovered in the Belgian archives in Brussels while the Germans were in occupation, and was used to'justify'-the German invasion of Belgium, which, however, had occurred- before the documents were stated to have been discovered, and had already been fully explained by Horr von Bcthinnim-Hollweg's previous declaration that the action was a military necessity and "necessity knows no law." The Gorman allegation has been denied by both Britain and Belgium.!
