THE WAIMATE. The New Zealand Shipping Company's stcarmer Wainiatc, which is running under tho auspices of the A. and A. Lino, arrived at Auckland from Now York on Tuesday morning and berthed at tho Queen's Wharf. She- left New York on June. 21 and cleared Panama on Juno 30, experiencing iino weather to Auckland. About 2000 tons of her cargo is for Auckland and tho balance, about 6COO tons, is for Wellington, Lyttoltou, and Dunedin. Captain J. B. Makepeace is in command and has with him. the following officers:— first, W. 0. Crowduse; second, G. A. Spedding; third, J. E. Biddy; fourth, J. F. Brodio; chief engineer, U. White; second, M. Matthews; third, G. Murray; fourth, D. M. Haddocks; fifth, C. H. Wallace; first refrigerating engineer, J. Wilßon; second, J. H. Austin; chief steward, It. J. Byers; first wireless operator,. W. THE FOXTON TRADE. It is very probable thaj tho regular Foxton trade will he resumed towards the end of next week. Tho Kennedj-, which is to maintain tho mvree, is at present completing her overhaul on the patent slip. This wort, it is estimated, will take only a few days, and the vessel wiU then be examined by Mr. Signal (Messrs. Lovin and Co;'s superintending 'engineer). If found satisfactory, she will commence running in the Foxton trade next week. A reporter wa3 informed yesterday that there is enough cargo for two trips waiting at Wellington, and no - difficulty is anticipated In securing further consignments. Tho Mauawatu Shipping Company, which is to control tho.'Kennedy, will havo its registered office at Messrs. Levin and Co.'s office,'-Custom-house Quay, Wellington. The Kennedy is to be engaged exclusively in the Welling-ton-Foxton trade. PRINZESSIN FOR NEWCASTLE. Tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advised yesterday that the Prinzessin is to leave for Newcastle at noon on Tuesday. The vessel is to tako . a limited' number of saloon and steerage passengers, arid .intending passengers are advised to get in touch with Jlessrß. Levin and Co., tho booking agents. It is expected that'.'the vessel, which is on her maiden trip to Wellington, will bo in port about a week, when she will proceed on to Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. ABOUT THE AYR3HIRE. Advices jretieired by Wellington merchants state that tho F. and S. imer Ayrshire loft the United Kingdom on July 2 for Nov.- Zealand ports, but owing to a fire in her bunkers, ■ Bho waa compelled to put back. A private cablegram received in Wellington states that the vessel resumed her voyage on July 16, Up to the present the New Zealand and African Company (agents for tho vessel) havo received on word of the Ayrshire's movements.
