W ELLINGTON-C -INTERBURY MATCH POSTPONED. The sodden state of the Basin Reserve and the groundsman's report after insjßjecting tho ground, decided the committee of tho Wellington Rugby Football League to postpone the Wellington-Can-terbury representative match, which had been set down for this aftornoon. A telegram was sent to tho Canterbury lenguo yesterday, advising them of the state of affairs in Wellington and tho local committee's decision. INVITATION TO NEW SOUTH WALES FOR N.Z. TOUR. Br Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, August 1. Tho New Zealand Rugby League Council dQcided to-night to invite a New South Wales League team to visit NewZealand this month for seven, and possibly eight, matches. Games will probably be played ia the four centres and at Hawko's Bay, Greynjoiith, and possibly Rotorua. If tho invitation is accepted tho visitors will require to arrive in tho Dominion not later than August IG.
