COAL ON THE WEST COAST
■ ■'; NO STOCKS IN BINS AT MINES. By Telouraph-Presß Association. ~ Greym'outh, July 31. With ' reference to a statement made by Mt. W. T. .Young, general bocretary of the New Zealand Seamen's Union, that there were thousands of tons of coal on, the West -Coast waiting to be taken away, after .■ making exhaustive inquiries throughout this district, it is clear tho above statement is. quite erroneous. Thore are absolutely no stocks of coal in the bins of tho various mines, and it is a ■ common occurrence for steamere at this \ port to bo delayed waiting for coal, and v they are often compelled to sail shortloaded owing to coal not being forthcoming.
