ENTERTAINMENTS

THE DANDIES. The Concert Chamber of the Town Hall was'well patronised again last evening when the Dandies presented a highly entertaining programme, which met with well-merited applause. The concerted item, "The Goblin Mau," was quite a successful number and delighted the audience. The sextet "I'd Liie to Take You Walking" proved an ideal mirthprovokcr, while the catchy stammering song "K-k-kntie," sung by Miss Lenore Graham, was decidedly popular. A fixture item of the programme is au exhibition of the "fox trot" by Mr. Joseph Baxtor and Miss Madeline Knight, who are both yery capable , dancers and experts in Hio many steps this dance contains. Mr. Harry Cooper, solo violinist, rendered several "pleasing numbers, and the items on the 'cello by Mr. Noel Moiikihnii were much appreciated. Ihe other members of the company also contributed capable items. Mr. Andrew Pace, comedian, will reaappear to-morrow evening.

"THE HAYSEEDS." How truly characteristic of bush life when lived "far from the madding crowd" is the comedy of "The Hayseeds, the remarkably faithful and humorous photo-play of life on a wayback selection, to be screened at Everybody's Theatre, commencing to-morrow at the matinee. Nothing is omitted, and wliile the awuonce are being let into the many causes for jealousy and malice that spring up between the Hayseeds and the fluggans, there is always a delightful romance interwoven. Everything is of the bush bushy. Whether it be men, women, children, or babies, weddings, christenings, dances, quarrels, or happy reunions, all is redolent of the bush. Dad ana Mum and all the family arrive from- , Tawa Flat to-morrow, and are going'to have the time of their lives. Dad thinks they ought to stop at the best hotel, but mum thinks dad is trying to put on airs, and won't hear of it. Joe and Pansy won't let on where they are going to'stop; but Joe alwaye was economical. The box plan for the season is now open at the Theatre.
