FLAXMILLERS' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. (From Our Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, July 80. Tho annual mooting of tho New Zealand Fiaxmillers' Association was hold at Palmerston North yesterday. In the oourse of tho animal report, which-was adopted, it was mentioned that the yellow leaf disease had forced itself upon the notico of tho association. Dr. Cockayne and other scientists- had devoted considerable timo to investigations, and had endeavoured to discover a remedy. Dr. Cockayno had also prepared a paper on tho subject, and this had been placed before, members. Touching on hemp-pressing and standardisation of bales, the report said that several millers had devoted a considerable amount of .time and attention to this matter, and'a recommendation had been niado to tho Department, in an endeavour to meet the requirements of buyers overseas, in tho matter.-of the size and weights of bales. . ifany attempts had been made to obtain a reduction in freights, but so far without success. Officers for the ensuing year wore elected as follow Mr. R. T. Bell; vice-president, Mr. S. Liggins; executive, Messrs. 11. Berry, H. Sen'ert, A Seifert, W. Ross, A. Ross, C. H. Spiers, J. Liggins, W. Nye, and A. King.
