(By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Tangier, July 25. An eye-witness of tho recent fighting describes how a Spanish column of 170 was entrapped and massacred in a ravine. Benian spies warned Raisuli of the approach of the troops, and the tribesmen, disguised in Spanish- uniforms, hurled small Gorman poison bombs. Many of the Spaniards fell insonsible, and the tribesmen, protected by gas niasks and using daggers, leisurely completed the slaughter. Only ten of the Spaniards escaped, and their commander committed s.uicide. Raisuli heavily defeated another column of 600 mixed Spanish and native troops, which was attempting to attack Benhaman. The column lost its transport and the wounded suffered terribly owing ■to the scarcity of ambulances—"The Times."
