STOREMEN AND PACKERS
AWARD AMENDED,
The Court of Arbitration has filed its decision upon the application made by the Wellington wholesale merchants' storemen and packers for an amendment of their award. Tho decision is as follows:— -■ Storemen and packers over the ago of 21 years ary to be paid at, not lees than the following rates:—For storemen and packers in charge of two or more men, other than casuals, £i per week; for storemen or packers, £S 10s. per week. Junior storemen or packers are to be naid as follow:—Under 17 years of age, £1 per week; 17 to 18. .£1 55.; 18 to 19, £1 10s.; 19 to 20, £1 155.; 20 to 21, ,-£2. In addition to tho above wages, the juniors are to receive a bonus of 10 per cent, "unless and until the Court shall otherwise order." Workers employed for less than one week are to bo deemed casual, and aro to be paid Is. 7J-d. per hour, with overtime at the rate of 2s. 4d. Per hour. In a .memorandum the Court states: "The Coiivi reserves to H"olf the power at «inv time hereafter of its own motion oiv otherwise to review, alter, or amend the hours nf work as now prescribed in tho award." The Court's decision .iffocts workers within a 25-mile radius of Wellington.
