PEACE HATS COMING
MYSTERIOUS NEW HEADGEAE FOR MERE MAN. London—und through London the world—is threatened with a "mystery" hat for men (says the London "Daily Ivews"). The secret is jealously guarded, and none but the initiated are allowed to penetrate into the secret chambers where the details of its construction are being worked out. It is to lie called thu "Peace" hat, and, judging by the silence which, has sealed the lips of all the experts, it will cause a revolution in men's headgear, "Men are tired of the old time-honour-ed bowlers, toppers, straws, and Hornburgs," said a big London hatter recently, "and they want something new. The returning soldier has been able to vary his headgear during the war. He has had the choice of tin hats, khaki service dress caps, and for quite informal occasions the cap comforter arranged as his fancy dictated. I can see the need for a new hat, a 'Peace" hat, in fact; but I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to give any details." "I can give the information," said another hatter, "but not yet. , The moment has not arrived. Yes, it is a 'Peaco' hat, and the details will be available shortly, but until then I am sworn to secrecy." No one will reveal the secret. The only definite fact is that the "Peace" hat is about to be released on an unsuspecting public. .In fuel, one of the hatting experts says, "I should not he surprised if a series of hats commemorative of peace were forthcoming."
"Quito time, *oo," fnid a lady questional on the subject, "for men's hats at present nro undoubtedly the dullest things in life."
